Essay on the right to our opinion

Arguing and giving up our "right" to our own opinion can save our lives, improve our country, and secure the future for the next generations if everyone else started to agree with each other and start to wear a mask when going out in public. As we all know, there are tons of Covid-19 cases in the world right now, especially in our country, the United States of America. Though there are still plenty of people who chooses not to wear a mask and excuses themselves by saying they have a "right" to their opinion. But at this point, is their opinion still valid?

Just in Santa Maria alone, I've seen plenty of people in our city not wearing a mask out in public which is very wrong of them. With them not doing the simple task of wearing a mask, they are not only putting just themselves and their family member's life at risk, but everyone around them as well. The corona virus can also spread in many ways and choosing not to a mask is just happens to be the most common way for the disease to spread. Older people are also less immune which means that it'll be easier for them to catch the virus and will have it harder for them to recover from it unlike most younger people.

We don't really notice it, but when we speak sometimes spit would come out of our mouths. Which is why wearing a mask should become an essential, at least for now during this pandemic. If a person who you didn't know was infected, were to have a conversation with you without a mask on and unknowingly, a slight of their spit came in contact with your skin, they most likely would have already infected you with the virus and this cycle would go on and on causing the virus would spread more. This is what we're trying to prevent with wearing a mask. If everyone in the world were to agree with having to wear a mask as an essential, then we would all be able to save each other and prevent the virus to worsen.

All over the internet, sometimes I'd still see people constantly arguing with others on why they shouldn't have to wear a mask. Some using the excuses that they're not able to breathe well underneath and some just simply choosing not to. But these should no longer be valid excuses. While people like them are complaining about having to simply wear a mask out in public, there are millions of other people in the world that are suffering from the virus. These people should just admit the fact that they're stubborn and inconsiderate. Putting on a piece of fabric over your face in public isn't that complicated.

A person who chooses to not wear a mask during a global crisis like this should not be able to earn their right to this opinion. Each day, over 100,000 corona virus cases are being added in the world. At this point people not being able to cooperate in this situation should no longer have an opinion such as protesting against wearing a mask. Because of their stubborn "opinions," everyday more and more people are suffering and some possibly dying from this harmful disease. Everyone in the world should become more understanding with our current situation and start wearing a mask to prevent the disease from spreading any more and hopefully save many lives. Please remind yourself and the people around you to always wear a mask.
