Basically, the drunk man in this chapter ended up speaking about his thoughts about life and death. Starting with how he thinks we should just not care about others and focus with ourselves and our happiness as we only live once. Then he started talking about the afterlife and how he doesn’t believe in God’s existence in a mocking manner. Obviously this would’ve pissed the bishop off so he only reacted by sarcastically clapping and agreeing with the man, basically saying that of course he’d have this mindset as he is rich and only a rich, privileged man would be able to think this way.
