Seeds of a revolution

Food shortages, economic crises, and a widespread discontent of enormous debt by the King Louis XVI was what led the people of France to revolt against him and his queen. Their people became outraged towards both King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette due to their actions. Eventually, both the king and queen were imprisoned. When evidence against King Louis were discovered, he was convicted to death by a narrow majority and was soon executed. Months later, his queen became executed as well.
